This outstanding vintage shows the ultimate character that we expect from our estate vineyards. With full, rich aromas and flavors redolent of ripe stone fruit and dark berries, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon is a lush wine with a subtle tannin backbone that will allow the wine to become more complex with proper bottle age.
The color is purple, ruby red, with aromas of blueberry, cassis and mocha. The entry on the palette is rich and fruit forward, with jammy flavors, good structure, acidity, and sweet balanced tannins that leave an elegant finish.
A classic Rutherford Cab with full violet-ruby color and distinctive local aromas of black cherry, dark olive and mineral, combined with hints of smoky oak and blackberry. The fine flavors echo the nose. Medium acidity and body plus supple tannins. With a fine balance between alcohol, fruit and tannin, this young wine already drinks well and will support 6-10 years aging.
Napanook is a blend of the Bordeaux varietals coming from vineyard lots chosen for their finesse, lively fruit and subtle tannins. The goal is to find the perfect equilibrium between these elements, creating a wine that is harmonious and, of course, pleasurable to drink.
The dark ruby-colored 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon resembles a classic Bordeaux both in aromatics and flavor. A rich bouquet of cinnamon, spice, licorice, graphite and caramel are followed by integrated layers of cherry, currant, fresh cream and balanced, sweet tannin, all of which contribute to a youthful, bright, multi-layered wine.
Cabernet Sauvignon is a grape that takes its own sweet time, slowly lingering to ripen on the vine. We are rewarded by its reluctance. Ripe cherries and vivid plums create a welcome first impression, while touches of earth tones and leather nestle themselves among the fruit. Sixteen months in American barrels have produced wisps of tobacco leaf and notes of spicy cigar box. With well-integrated tannins and a rich and round finish, this wine will be a favorite for years to come.
A perennial favorite on restaurant wine lists, ARTEMIS is generous in flavor and velvety in texture. Aromas of cassis and caramel rise and give way to earthy notes of black olive, black pepper, and truffles. Classic flavors of cassis and black cherry fill the mouth as notes of violets and vanilla linger on the finish. Enjoy this wine with braised short ribs on a cold winter’s night or with a porcini and gorgonzola burger for you gourmet grillers.
“The intense fruit in this Cabernet Sauvignon does not deter from the aromatics of chocolate cherry and slight mint, which precede a palate of cocoa and black cherry flavors. This is an elegant, complex wine that culminates in the perfect balance of wood and fruit on the lingering finish.” -Ray Einberger, Winemaker
The 2001 “Bella Oaks” is a beautiful wine! The pure elegance and refinement in the balance are amazing. This wine has it all --- classic Cabernet aromas, lush, sweet cherry fruit, and a slow, creamy follow-through on the palate that is mesmerizing. You are in for a treat. The overall softness makes this wine quite drinkable now, but the graceful balance will ensure longevity.
