“The intense fruit in this Cabernet Sauvignon does not deter from the aromatics of chocolate cherry and slight mint, which precede a palate of cocoa and black cherry flavors. This is an elegant, complex wine that culminates in the perfect balance of wood and fruit on the lingering finish.” -Ray Einberger, Winemaker
Cabernet from this 30-year-old vineyard always delivers power, structure and rich concentrated black fruit characters. I have tried to harness this power into something a little friendlier in the first few years of release, while not taking away from its inherent ability to age. The 100% Cabernet stands up to the 69% new oak with all its weight and structure.
The 2003 Canoe Ridge Estate Cab delivers a great combination of texture, cherry fruit and a spicy, cinnamon element. Its long, elegant, slightly dusty finish, shows typical Canoe Ridge Estate terroir.
