The Ehlen winery has been family owned and operated since 1668. Currently, Stephen Ehlen is the owner and winemaker. He studied at the wine school in Bernkastel Kues in the 1950s. Winemaking is tightly woven into the social culture of the nearby town of Losnich. The presence of viticulture in the area dates back 200 years. The Erdener label depicts a sight that's typical of a winegrowers village with a sketch of the estate house and the family's coat of arms. The Ehlen Erdener Rieslings are characterized by their fragrant, light bodied style and mineral essences.
