Made from 100% Shiraz grapes grown on 10 to 15 year old vines from some of the best regions of South Australia including Kangarilla, Blewitt Springs and Kalimna. The wine is a lively, dense, ruby red in color. It has intensely perfumed fruit characters and is brambly with ripe black cherry. There are slight hints of cinnamon spiciness & light mocha. The juicy, fleshy palate finishes with ripe tannins.
Full flavored and generous, the palate exhibits an array of fruit flavors that persist over the whole length of the palate, finishing with a twist of lime. The slightly phenolic backbone provides structure and mouthfeel, which is balanced with zingy crisp acidity.
The wine is rich ruby red in color. Sweet blueberry fruit abounds in
the nose, complexed by tobacco, coffee & chocolate. In the mouth,
there are plums & fruitcake with lavish toasty oak and a voluptuous
creamy structure.
Vibrant dark cherry, raspberry and rich chocolate flavors are balanced with an even, textural palate with smooth and supple tannins, with a hint of vanillin oak. The overall palate effect is of rich ripe fruit and a generosity that is the hallmark of Barossa Shiraz.
Old world European subtle savory earthiness meets the new world vibrant fresh array of raspberry and cherry fruits. Finishing with soft yet assertive tannins, this is a very good food friendly wine - interplays rather than dominates.
