Review:Revello’s 2004 Barolo Vigna Gattera is the only wine the estate ages in 15-hectoliter barrels rather than the smaller French oak barriques. Sweet mentholated notes intertwined with dark red fruit and spices emerge from this beautiful, silky-textured wine. Made in a structured style for a La Morra Barolo, it reveals outstanding length and terrific overall balance. This took some time to open up, but when it did, it was superb.
