Sauvignon Blanc

A luscious barrel-aged wine that captures the crisp, vibrant character of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. The wine opens with floral aromas of orange blossom and jasmine merging with fresh citrus and a touch of mineral and toasted almond. Richly layered flavors of citrus and lychee fruit unfold on the palate. Thanks to barrel-fermentation and gentle stirring during sur lie aging in French oak, the wine is round and expressive, with a long, elegant finish.

Light green in colour, passionfruit and citrus fruits fill the nose complimented by complexing flint. The palate is filled with tight passionfruit, melon and lemon fruit. This is all kept in check by the distinctive and chalky Marlborough acidity. Try this flavourful Sauvignon Blanc with snapper fillets served with fresh dill sauce.

The Hubert Veneau vineyards have been a family estate for several generations. It was taken over by Hubert in the 70s and is now managed by the two sons: Bertrand, 35, and Jérôme, 34. It covers 93.90 acres and produces Pouilly Fumé on 44.48 acres and Côteaux du Génois on 49.42 acres.
The wines of the Veneau brothers are served all around the world and notably at the table of the French Parliament.

The 2006 Ferrari-Carano Fumé Blanc is a blend of vineyard lots from various appellations of Sonoma County. Zesty flavors and aromas of tropical fruit such as kiwi, gooseberry, pineapples and mangos with a hint of grassiness are complemented by creamy citrus notes. Aging partially in stainless steel and older French oak gives this wine a crisp freshness and a subtle oak character that adds great complexity and depth.

A classic Forrest Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Intensely aromatic as always, with flavors of pink grapefruit, rockmelon, fresh green herbs and lemon zest. Mouth-filling, rich in the mid-palate, with a bright and juicy finish.

100% Sauvignon Traditional vinification with native yeast in stainless steel vats. Type of ageing : On lees in stainless steel vats. Ageing on lees gives the wines more fullness. Tasting note : Pale yellow. Nose of tropical fruits with a touch of flintiness. A crisp wine with good length.
