Le Coste is a relatively new cru from Grimaldi, and a very precious one at that. It's the smallest in the township which makes the wine even more unique, but also even less bountiful--only, at best, around 4500 bottles produced each year. The color is remarkable: a deep, blood-ruby with no hint of garnet hues that are often present even in young Barolo. The bouquet is only periphally floral, the fruit dominated by a density that is somehow perceived before the wine is tasted. The concentration betrays its sweetness and soft, fragrant wealth.

With red currants and a healthy dose of black fruits, this wine is faithful to the winery's balanced and subtle profile, perfect to help any novitiate to Montalcino wines understand why Brunellos are so highly prized.

The nose is very sensual; dried strawberry fruit, light perfume of lilacs, with edges of exotic spice and pimento bark. On the palate, the initial impression is light berry fruit, dominated by rich dark earth tones, with allspice and nutmeg seeping into each layer of flavor. Although it does not feel heavy on the palate, it is quite dry in comparison to the other Barolo wines made by Revello. This Barolo was aged in large Slovanian oak, and then French barrique.

The Barolo Cannubi is made from 100% Nebbiolo, and is aged for two years in French oak barrels followed by another 12 months in the bottle. With an intense ruby red color and a nose of wild berries and aromatic herbs, this full-bodied wine is perfect with roasted meats and aged cheese.

Garnet red color. Intense, elegant nose; kirsch, currant jam, and vanilla. Full-bodied, concentrated, complex, tannic quite intense and persistent flavor. Perfect with Piedmontese cheeses and grilled red meat.

Deep, garnet red in color, the Bricco Fiasco has a fine, ethereal nose that tantalizes with fruity and spicy aromas layered under notes of tobacco and licorice. It is warm and rich on the palate, very soft in the mouth, balancing ripe and sweet tannins with excellent freshness.

This full-bodied wine has a garnet red core with a pink rim, and has a sweetly intense nose with aromas of overripe cherries, cedar wood, and liquorice. The palate is round, quite fresh, well balanced, and harmonious.

One of the most sought-after wines from Montalcino, Montosoli is consistently a blockbuster red. Its intense ruby red color tends toward elegant garnet with age. On the nose, it shows its complex personality with a delicious blend of black cherry, raspberry, violets, licorice, vanilla and black pepper. Extremely enticing, opulent and elegant on the palate, with a warm, long lasting finish, Montosoli is a wine for special occasions.
